Like most of Astral’s shoes, the Loyak is made primarily for H20 use. Lightweight and self-draining, it’s ideal for long days on or near the water.

- Grip: G15 rubber with maximum rubber-to-granite surface contact area. It’s made with a tacky, high abrasion compound that lets you jump rock to wet rock with confidence. The divided lugs give you excellent grip and stability on loose terrain.
- Flexibility: Reduced thickness and flex grooves provide maximum flexibility and comfort with excellent sensory feedback for heightened grip and balance.
- Drainage: Holes at toe and heel allow water to escape, but reduce entry of sand or silt
- Durability: Recessed stitching securely connects bomber Cordura uppers directly to outsole to rubber. Hydrophobic canvas upper has ventilating mesh that stretches for ideal comfort and fit.

The Astral Loyak fits like a glove, the upper fabric conforms to your foot in such a way that when wet, your foot hardly slips inside the shoe. With the added control of laces you can adjust the tightness of the shoe for everyday use, or for water activities, while remaining super comfortable.
Your foot is positioned on the foot bed in much the same way it would be if you were barefoot. With the thin sole, this gives you the added balance and precision when walking on slick rocks or other treacherous ground. With the shoe being ultra flexible also with the added powerhouse of non-marking sticky rubber.
This rubber is able to grab so much more on uneven surfaces than a stiff shoe, letting you focus on carrying your unwieldy water craft of choice down to the water instead of the rough or slippery path at your feet.
